Any child who lives in Lawrence County is entitled to a free library card with the consent of a parent or guardian until the age of 18. Permission to use the Young Adult Department may be obtained by having the parent sign an additional card permitting the child to select materials without restriction, until the child is 13, at which time full permission is granted. At the age of 18, the child’s registration is transferred to the Adult Department.
Programs, such as story times, are open to all members of the community, regardless of whether or not they have library cards. Some programs may be restricted for certain reasons– i.e. Honors Programs for summer reading are open to only those who have the qualifications.
