Join us for a reception for youth artist Emma Zacherl, in partnership with Arts & Education at the Hoyt. Zacherl is a junior at Clarion-Limestone High School. She creates watercolor and water-mixable oil paintings of historical subjects. A few years ago, her relative asked her to create some watercolor paintings of old iron furnaces in Pennsylvania that he was writing a book about. Her paintings were used as illustrations for all three books he authored. He would provide her with an old photograph and she then recreated them as watercolor paintings. These paintings as well as the three books will be on exhibit. She also enjoys visiting historical places with reenactments. Her recent paintings are of specific reenactors that agreed to have their pictures taken and then painted.
