This session will focus on the art, history, technology, economics and politics of United States coinage. It will look at the symbolism used in coin designs and how those designs have changed over the years. It also will look at coin production and how political and economic factors come into play. The general value of coins will be explored, along with some popular numismatic misconceptions. Attendees with old coins and questions about them are welcome to bring them along to discuss.
