About the event

Saturday, May 23rd is "143 Day" Celebrated on the 143rd day of the year and 143 is Mister Roger's code for "I Love You"! This is an "official" declared day in Pennsylvania, but the idea of 143 Day has spread beyond our state. #143DayInPA

143 Day is a celebration of kindness in honor of Fred Rogers. We will encourage small acts of gratitude and showing kindness to others. We will discuss doing good deeds; how kids are able to help in their communities and neighborhoods. Perhaps if the day is fine, we can do a small walkabout where the family can notice "the neighborhood" around the library. What do they see? What could be different?

I am planning a "Word Window" of helpful and kind words. Also a "library community" art project that kids can design and add their original art or color a copied piece of our "Community Quilt".
