Community Exhibit Space
The exhibit/display case on the 1st floor of the library is available for local groups! The New Castle Public Library encourages community use of exhibit space for purposes that enhance the Library’s educational, cultural, and civic mission. Displays also provide an opportunity to showcase local talent to the community. Call 724-658-6659 ext. 107 for more information or to apply for an exhibit, or view our exhibit policy.
The New Castle Public Library is offering a Seed Library for community gardeners. Why a Seed Library? Gardening allows us to become more self-sufficient, eat more nutritious food, and save money. Gardening is also an activity that the entire family can enjoy– no matter what the age. By growing our own food, we know where our food comes from and we can develop seeds that become acclimated to our climate and more pest resistant. The program also allows us to offer a new service in our area that could be enjoyed by all members of the family, as well as attract new users to the library. Gardening workshops are also held in the fall with the Master Gardeners of Lawrence County.
Stack’s Knitters are a knitting/crocheting group who share ideas and work on creating projects to benefit various community organizations. All are welcome! Meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month at 10 am in the Copernicus room. Call 724-658-6659 ext. 109 for more information.
Join the Library Stitchers for sewing and quilting in the Copernicus room on the first floor. Every skill level is welcome. A new technique will be discussed at each meeting. Bring your ideas! Meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month at 12:30 pm. Call 724-658-6659 ext. 109 for more information.
