Fighting an Invader

Lawrence County Master Gardeners Presents: “Fighting An Invader”

It's official; Lawrence County is in quarantine for Spotted Lantern Flies. In spring, these obnoxious insects are waking up across the state and cause destruction with gross, sticky “honeydew.” Come learn what to look for and how to fight back. Help protect our fruit and maple trees.

The event will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 21 at New Castle Public Library.

The presenter is Joy Wilson of Penn State Extension, 724-674-0338 or jhw5391@psu.edu. She is a former biology teacher, and a shepherd on her family’s 5th-generation farm.

The event is free and open to the public.
