Childrens' Programs in December

Prepare your child for a life-long love of literacy and learning at your New Castle Public Library. Visit us to explore a variety of programs, resources and services to help your child's imagination soar!

December is full of activities for your family. Our PreK Explorers along with Mother Goose Time followed by WeeBuild continue through the month. Tuesday, December 19th at 10:00 and Wednesday, December 20th at 10:00 are the Story Time Holiday Parties.

Monday, December 11th at 6:00 is a Merry Little Beatnik Cafe. Come on down for some holiday family fun - share your talent with the community or just give our talented musicians and poets a listen. We hope to announce our Ukrainian Art contest winners at this Beatnik Cafe. Please drop off your entries and share your talents.

Saturday, December 16th, our holiday movie marathon begins at 9:00! We will show movies and cartoons until 4:30. Some of the features are: Charlie Brown Christmas, Prep & Landing, Yes, Virginia., The Muppet Christmas Carol and The Santa Clause.

Celebrate Winter on Thursday, December 21st, beginning at 4:00 in the youth services area. We will have crafts, treats and activities to brighten the darkest winter days!

Thursday, December 28th at 11:00. New Castle Public Library welcomes children's author, Cindy Lescarbeau. Cindy writes for Clubhouse Jr. magazine and is an inspirational speaker. Join us for a fun morning with crafts, cookies and conversation with the talented Cindy Lescarbeau. Check out her website for more information:

December 30th VGC - STEAM Saturday event is Building a Gaming PC. Please arrive by 10:15, Zoom meeting begins promptly at 10:30.

Building a PC involves selecting and assembling individual hardware components, such as a processor, graphics card, and memory, to create a customized and high-performance computer system tailored to specific needs and preferences. The components will be sent to our library from VGC Headquarters in Chambersburg PA. This will be a hands-on, group effort.
