What is a Family Place Library?
New Castle Public Library has designed programs for parents of young children (birth to 3 years of age). Programs emphasize play, creative activity, and development of skills that will help children as they reach school age. The assistance of community professionals experienced in the fields of child development is a major component of the programming offered.
Components of a Family Place Library
- A five week series of programs for children and parents from birth to 3 years of age
- An area where parents can relax with children and explore activities to engage & stimulate children
- A collection of books, periodicals and videos located in the Junior Department to assist in parenting
- A collaboration with outside agencies to provide assistance to children and families
Consider this a great opportunity to bond with your child while developing a network of new friends in a quality environment.
