Baseball Books CONTEST!

Take me out to the ballgame, take me out to the crowd!
It’s a great day when the day includes a real live baseball game. But, it is difficult to find the money or to find the transportation to the game. Here, at the library, we have the books to help you learn more about baseball until the day that you are in that seat at the game. And, to make it more fun, the library has a game in place.

In the Junior Department, there is a display of books, old and new, waiting for someone to take them out. Find 2 books to enjoy and check them out downstairs. Make sure a receipt is given. Keep this receipt or run it upstairs immediately to the Junior Department. On July 31st, a few receipts will be pulled. The individuals will be called to stop by the library and pick out part of the display as seen with this article. Visit as many times as you wish, throughout the summer. Increase your chances of winning. You can win the whole display!

Charlie Brown Display

The winter scenes of sledding, snowmen, and ice skating with Charlie Brown and the Peanut Gang have disappeared with the snow. Mr. George Orr has returned and has displayed the Spring and Summer backdrops for the gang. Now, the Gang can be seen playing baseball, flying kits and enjoying other warm weather activities.

With the new display, the newest member of the Gang is placed. Mr. George Orr reviewed the 10 entries and found a name that he felt best suited the Gang. Mr. Orr created the character from a PEPPERMINT PATTY character. The name he selected was GLORIA. Amazingly, of the 10 entries, 2 were GLORIA. Warren Grove and Julian and Jaidyn Devynne are the winners of the entries. Each winner will receive a bag of Peppermint Patties commemorating the original character from which GLORIA was created. Stop in and see the spring and summer scenes with Charlie Brown, the Gang, and Gloria.
